It's been a wild and exciting ride if you're a Miami Dolphins fan. The Dolphins had a difficult time last year, particularly on the offensive side of the ball, so they began reconstruction. They acquired offensive guru and player’s coach Mike McDaniel to lead from the head coaching position. Everyone that knows him seems to speak highly of McDaniel and should have fans excited from this standpoint.

This offseason had been “OK” right up to the last couple of days. The Dolphins acquired OT Terron Armstead and OG Connor Williams in FA to help boost an offensive line that ranked 32nd in the NFL last year. When this happened, I believe Dolphins fans all around the world were pleased and gave the offseason a win. This should help Tua Tagovailoa stay upright more often as he was sacked 2.4 times per game on average. They went ahead and signed RB Chase Edmonds and RB Raheem Mostert. This, along with the OL signings, should help boost a rushing offense that ranked 29th in rushing yards per game in 2021.

What has made this offseason hugely exciting, has been the unthinkable trade for WR Tyreke Hill. The Dolphins gave up 2022 1st, 2nd and 4th round draft picks plus 2023 4th and 6th round draft picks to acquire the star wide receiver. Dolphins now have added more speed to this offense by adding Hill, Mostert and Edmonds. Don’t forget they drafted WR Jaylen Waddle with the 6th overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft and placed the franchise tag on TE Mike Gesicki. The Dolphins did almost everything they can do to help Tua succeed.

The jury is still out on Tua Tagovailoa. Everything that has potentially hindered him from being a successful QB has been removed, and everything that was missing has been added. His previous coaching seemed to play into this, so they got a new, offensive-minded coach that believes in Tua. They improved the offensive line to give him time in the pocket and display that accuracy he’s known for. They added Tyreke Hill. Defenses will have trouble covering the Dolphin wideouts. The stage is set for Tua to shine. If after all that has been done this offseason and Tua still can’t make it happen, we will definitely be in the market for another QB in 2023.
